Rules, board setup and how to play Frisian Draughts 10×10.
10×10Board
How to play
- Men move diagonally forward, one square at a time.
- Kings are "flying": they move and capture across any number of empty squares along a line.
Captures
- Captures can be made both diagonally and orthogonally.
- Men may capture both forward and backward.
- Men are allowed to capture kings.
- Capturing is mandatory, and you must take the most valuable sequence (a man counts 2, a king 3).
- When sequences are otherwise equal, capturing a king takes priority.
- A man that crosses the last row mid-capture stays a man and keeps capturing; it promotes only if the move ends on the last row.
- A lone king may make at most 3 consecutive non-capturing moves before another piece must move.
- Frisian endgame draw rules apply (e.g. two kings versus one is drawn after a set number of moves).
