How to play

Movement
  • Men move diagonally forward, one square at a time.
  • Kings move one square at a time (no flying kings).
Captures
  • Captures are made diagonally, jumping over an adjacent enemy piece.
  • Men may capture forward only.
  • Men cannot capture kings.
  • Capturing is mandatory, and you must take the sequence that captures the most pieces.
  • When the captures are otherwise equal, you must capture with a king, not with a man.
  • When the piece count is equal, you must take the sequence that captures the most kings.
  • If they are still equal, you must take the sequence that captures a king earliest.
  • Each captured piece is removed from the board immediately, which can open up further captures in the same sequence.
Promotion
  • A man reaching the last row is promoted and the move ends, even mid-capture.
  • The game is drawn after 40 moves in which only kings move and nothing is captured.
